Robin Bartlett is the author of "Vietnam Combat: Fire Fights and Writing History."
Robin served a 12-month combat tour as an officer in the US Army Rangers and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
At 22 at years old, Robin assumed the leadership of the 1st Platoon, A Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).
Robin led his platoon on 60 helicopter combat assaults and search and destroy missions.

1) Robin told us he “tried very hard not to do stupid stuff.”
2) Robin asked for advice and input from his more experienced team members at every opportunity, especially when he was new in country.
3) Trust your point men and cover people.
3.5) Shoots lots of artillery.
