Michael Lombardi won three Super Bowls.
Works alongside Bill Belichick.
Built championship rosters from the ground up.
And he dropped a phrase that stuck with me…
A leader has to create confidence without evidence.
Especially early.
Especially when we’re taking over a struggling team.
Or building something from the ground up.
There’s no track record.
No proof it’ll work.
No scoreboard in our favor.
Just the process.
The work being done.
And a belief in where we are heading.
That’s the leader’s job.
What hits hard:
The team is watching.
They take their cues from us.
If we’re shaky, they’re shaky.
If we believe…
Even when the evidence isn’t there yet.
They start to believe too.
Confidence is contagious.
So is doubt.
We don’t wait for proof to lead.
We lead.
And the proof shows up later.
That’s how struggling teams evolve into championship teams.
Confidence without evidence.
